The shalwar is one of South Asia's oldest silhouettes — wide through the body, gathered at the ankle, built for the heat and the sitting and the movement of a subcontinent that figured out comfort long before activewear existed. The Emerald Court Shalwar Pants are the base layer of the court — the piece beneath the jacket, the foundation the ceremonial sits on.
Constructed from silk, the shalwar pants carry hand-embroidered dabka and pearl detailing at the lower hem — the same material language as The Emerald Court Jacket, positioned at the point where the garment meets the floor. The embroidery is concentrated, precise, a finishing detail that transforms the hem from a functional edge into a statement.
Silk shalwar is a formal proposition — the fabric drapes and moves in ways that cotton and jersey cannot, catching light as you walk, holding its structure without stiffness. The dabka and pearl embroidery at the hem catches light from below, a detail that is most visible when you're seated, when someone looks down, when the piece is seen from the position of closeness.
