Lahore is a city that invites you to come and then makes it hard to leave. It operates at a frequency that gets into you — the food, the music, the old city lanes, the way the light falls in the late afternoon on Mughal brick. The Fly To Lahore T-Shirt is an open invitation: a garment that tells you where to go and dresses you well enough to arrive.
The base is an acid-wash terracotta jersey — a colour that references the city's brick and soil, treated to have the worn quality of something that has already been through the day. Traditional motifs are laser-cut from khaddar and applied to the shirt surface, the negative space of the laser cut as much a part of the design as the solid motif. A screen-printed RASTAH logo on a khaddar patch marks the chest. The back carries a full screen-print artwork composition.
Acid wash terracotta is a specific decision — it resists the safe neutrals and the obvious brights, sitting in the register of earth and brick and old plaster. The laser-cut khaddar motifs in traditional forms are both decorative and declarative: this is where this shirt comes from, this is what it's pointing toward.
Every city has its frequency. Lahore's is a particular one — loud, layered, generous, old. This shirt is tuned to it.
